Mr Johnson has been urging Brits to ignore ‘gloom-mongers’ as senior EU players in the Brexit saga weighed in on the landmark date.

The most left-field claim came from wacky former Belgian PM and arch federalist Guy Verhofstadt, who suggested Brexit was to blame for Vladimir Putin’s bloody invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile former EU negotiator Michel Barnier suggested that the UK had seen ‘no added value’ from leaving. He also lauded Keir Starmer as ‘a European’, something the Labour leader may not appreciate as he tries to keep his party happy.

Speaking to Ms Dorries on the programme – to be broadcast on Friday at 8pm – MrJohnson said: ‘Thank goodness that era is behind us but one thing people forget – now let’s pray it’s behind us – but one thing people forget, thinking about the vaccine rollout is there we’ve got the, I think the third anniversary of Brexit, coming up, or the third anniversary of the day when we actually came out of the EU.

‘You don’t hear it much these days, but it is absolutely the case, that had it not been for our ability to do our own regulation, had it not been for situs gacor the fact that we’d come out of the European Medicines Agency, the MHRA, the medical health regulation agency, was now totally free to decide how fast to approve the vaccine – we wouldn’t have been able to do that vaccine rollout so fast.

‘And you know, it is literally true that Brexit helped save lives. And people’s eyes bulge a bit when you say that, but it happens to be true… I’m proud of that. I’m proud of all the work that those people did.’

Mr Johnson also addressed the ongoing investigation by the Privileges Committee into his Partygate conduct.

He insisted he will be ‘respectful’ of the process, but said anyone who thought he had deliberately covered up lockdown parties in No10 was ‘out of their mind’.

As such, Redknapp is thought to have volunteered his services in the short-term in a bid to keep the club in the top-flight.

However, Redknapp – who won the 2018 edition of reality show ‘I’m A Celebrity’ – is not thought to be close to taking over at Elland Road.

Skubala has meanwhile been confirmed as continuing in his stewardship of the senior side for the upcoming games against relegation rivals Everton and Southampton which are sure to decide the club’s fate this campaign.

‘Leeds United can confirm Michael Skubala will continue to lead the men’s first team for the club’s upcoming fixtures,’ the club announced in a recent statement.

And Skubala himself has spoken of how much he is enjoying his role, but that he is aware his position is solely a short-term appointment at this time.

‘Completely unprompted,’ Molan began her post, presumably referring to the recent speculation surrounding her show.

‘Signed a new radio deal a couple of months back… love these legends… love our breakfast show listeners (the number of whom has almost doubled in a year) and feel very grateful to be part of Southern Cross Austereo,’ she added.

Hughesy, Ed and Erin took over 2Day FM’s breakfast slot in January, but the show has failed to rise to the top of the ratings ladder despite growing its audience.

Television industry veteran Robert McKnight believes Bickmore's future lies at the helm of 2Day FM's Sydney breakfast show. She already hosts the Hit Network's top-rating drive show alongside Tommy Little (left) and is said to be earning a million dollars per year

The show reached an all-time ratings low in 2021, but has been clawing its way back and hit its highest-ever listenership earlier this year.

Yet the program still remains at the bottom of the pack, trailing behind Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa and KIIS FM’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

It comes after well-placed sources denied reports Bickmore was being considered for 2Day FM’s breakfast show.

United are in negotiations with Rayo Vallecano manager Andoni Iraola after Carlos Corberan rejected the chance to become their new manager.

Director of football Victor Orta was understood to be in Madrid on Tuesday evening as part of a Leeds delegation hoping to persuade Iraola to succeed Jesse Marsch. The move came after Corberan opted to stay at West Bromwich and sign a new long-term contract.

Leeds are continuing to assess other options, too, with the Iraola talks said to be in the balance on Tuesday night. Feyenoord’s Arne info slot gacor hari ini also proposed to the club on Tuesday and was installed as the bookies’ favourite.

Corberan was favoured by many at Leeds including owner Andrea Radrizzani but they only proposed an 18-month deal to him.West Bromwich made it clear to Corberan that they wanted him to oversee a long-term plan resulting in promotion to the top flight.

Albion confirmed in a statement: ‘We are delighted Carlos Corberan has signed a contract extension which will see him remain at the Hawthorns until 2027.’

Corberan said: ‘The way I have been made to feel welcome at this great club has made me confident this is the right place for me.’ Radrizzani had suggested that an appointment at Leeds was close on Tuesday night when he wrote on Twitter: ‘We are on it.Hopefully white smoke by tonight or tomorrow morning.’

Meanwhile, Orta travelled to Madrid having been at the club’s Thorp Arch training ground earlier in the day to update players on the latest developments.

His target, former Spain international Iraola, has led Rayo Vallecano to fifth in La Liga and draws his coaching inspiration from former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, who he played under at Athletic Bilbao.

The 40-year-old sidestepped questions about a possible move to Elland Road following Rayo’s 2-0 win over Almeria on Monday night.

‘Football belongs to the footballers, we are not that important,’ said Iraola.’The players make us look better. They are the ones who are achieving this.’

Orta is also understood to have sounded out Spain and Real Madrid legend Raul, now in charge of the club’s ‘B’ team, but no further talks with him are expected.

For tonight’s clash with Manchester United, Leeds will be led by Under 21s coaches Michael Skubala and Paco Gallardo, plus Chris Armas, who was recently brought in to assist Marsch.

‘This is temporary,’ said Skubala on Tuesday.’Whatever happens between tomorrow and Sunday remains to be seen. The owners are working hard behind the scenes to find the solution and they’re really positive with that.’

Skubala only joined Leeds last summer having worked with the FA as head coach of the England Futsal team and then England’s Under 18s.’It’s probably every coach’s dream to go and lead a team in the Premier League against Manchester United,’ admitted Skubala, who is close to England boss Gareth Southgate.

‘It’s not daunting, it’s an exciting prospect. I don’t think any of us need to get players up for Manchester United at Old Trafford. As coaches we enjoy challenges and this is a good challenge.

‘As long as we’re competitive and we put on a good show, that’s the most we can ask for. If we can nick something, that’d be good.’

Skubala believes the insight of Armas and fellow coach Ewan Sharp will be invaluable against Manchester United, with them both having worked there under Ralf Rangnick last season.

‘We’ve got Chris and Ewan behind the scenes,’ he said.’They’ve got a lot of insight into the players there.’

Skubala revealed he spoke to Marsch on Monday following his sacking, with the American saying his goodbyes to staff at Thorp Arch later that day.

‘It’s a disappointing time for Jesse but he was very professional,’ he added.’He was very caring for the staff and just said his goodbyes in a really professional and caring manner.’

Chris Cuomo and Dan Abrams denied claims made in the New York Post that the fired host was vying for the NewsNation standby’s primetime slot.

On Sunday the Post reported that Cuomo had been fuming throughout the NewsNation offices, raging against bad ratings and .

As Cuomo wrapped up his 8pm show and Abrams took the stage at 9pm, the production team appeared to ask Cuomo to stay on to discuss it with Abrams.

Abrams feigned anger at Cuomo, saying he had ‘a bone to pick’ with him and demanding to know why he was going behind his back to vie for the 9pm slot.

‘I read the New York Post and they’re telling me that you’ve been vying for my hour, and that you’ve been going to the bosses and saying ‘Oh I want Abrams to move to 8 and I’m gonna move to 9,’ and I’ve got a problem with that,’ Abrams said.

After Cuomo said ‘but you’re the big dog, that’s how it goes’, Abrams replied: ‘No, apparently I’m not, because if I was the big dog, I’d be still doing eight o’clock.’

Abrams then said: ‘What your ratings in our little world here like whoa, Cuomo is hitting homeruns every night.’

During the back and forth, Cuomo denied the Post’s report.

NewsNation also previously denied the Post’s report, calling the claims of Cuomo’s rage ‘completely, refferal gacor totally, 100% inaccurate.’

Abrams continued his segment on Monday to poke fun at the way Cuomo is characterized in the New York Post’s stories.

Cuomo is reportedly earning $1 million the hosting gig – a fraction of his former $6 million-a-year paycheck at CNN.

Cuomo was canned by CNN executives for violating journalistic ethics by advising his disgraced brother – former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo – through sexual misconduct allegations in 2021.

Cuomo has since maintained he did nothing wrong in advising his older brother and is currently suing CNN for $125million for lost wages, with the lawsuit claiming the firing left his reputation so marred that it would be ‘difficult if not impossible for Cuomo to find similar work in the future.’

During a promotional interview for the new show earlier this month, Cuomo appeared to try to distance himself from the partisan reporting of his past.

‘Everything’s gotta be context, and balance,’ he said in an interview with NewsNation. ‘It can’t just be that everything is wrong, everything is bad, and I see that now having been outside of it for while, and I hope to bring that perspective in.

‘NewsNation is just getting going, the idea of developing an audience, growing something, that’s really important to me. Cause I’m really trying to speak to a group, which the good news is it’s the biggest group, which is regular people who don’t identify with either extreme of a party,’ he said.

Despite his hiatus from the broadcaster’s chair, Cuomo has remained in the headlines since his departure from CNN.

Many have speculated Cuomo may have sparked the shakeup currently rocking CNN by ratting on former CEO Jeff Zucker over a consensual relationship with the network’s Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Allison Gollus, which led directly to the executive’s firing.

Cuomo has described Zucker as ‘one of the best makers of television’ and the relationship being revealed gave him ‘no joy,’ adding that Zucker ‘gave me tremendous opportunities.’

Despite the kind words for his former boss, Cuomo bitterly lamented that he was ‘recognized in Malawi as much as I would be in Milwaukee’ before his firing.

Cuomo continues to maintain he doesn’t see anything wrong with his actions, and says because he wasn’t covering his brother’s allegations, he was free to help him.

‘I was helping him in ways that I thought were reasonable,’ said Cuomo in an interview earlier in October.

‘I don’t know how it hurt the audience. I’ve never heard that it hurt the audience,’ he said of his helping shape his brother’s defense against sexual harassment allegations.

At the time he issued an on-air apology on CNN, Cuomo said that he ‘knows where the line is’.

He addressed the conflict of interest again in his podcast, saying: ‘I really do regret how everything ended, but I will never regret helping my family.’

Andrew Cuomo’s career collapsed as a politician after he was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior towards 11 women.

He resigned in August 2021 after months of pushback and eventually all criminal charges were dropped against him.

The charges against Cuomo were based on allegations by Brittany Commisso, who said Cuomo reached up her blouse and grabbed her breast in late 2020 while they were alone in his Executive Mansion office, where she´d been summoned to help with his cellphone.

He insisted he did no such thing, saying ‘it would be an act of insanity.’

Commisso’s testimony was among the most damning in a report released in August 2021 by Democratic state Attorney General Letitia James that concluded Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women.

Chris Cuomo maintains that he was not ‘the main guy’ in helping his brother overcome the allegations and was merely a ‘side piece’ in the efforts.

This notion is backed up by notes from his brother’s top aide Melissa DeRosa, who noted ‘Chris sends me a lot of things a lot of the time. Half of it I don’t engage in. He gives unsolicited advice.’

The former governor was also blamed for many of New York’s 15,000 nursing home COVID deaths after forcing the facilities to accept COVID-positive patients at the start of the pandemic.

Chris chummily interviewed his brother on his CNN show during the time and has admitted he knew having his brother on his show was a conflict of interest ‘all day long.’

Veteran television presenter Peter Purves today blasted Question of Sport as ‘unwatchable’ after the replaced its host Sue Barker with , saying the change was a ‘great shame’.

Former Blue Peter host Purves, 83 – who was himself dropped from ‘s coverage of Crufts in 2019 after 41 years – has lamented the exit of Barker, 66, and arrival of McGuiness, 48, on the BBC quiz show.

Purves also told ITV’s today that it was a ‘terrible decision’ by the BBC last week to axe the Radio 2 afternoon show fronted by Steve Wright, 67, who will be replaced by Radio 1’s Scott Mills, 49.

The BBC announced in September 2020 that former professional tennis player Barker would be leaving Question of Sport after 24 years, with team captains Matt Dawson, 49, and Phil Tufnell, 56, also departing.

Barker took over as presenter in 1997 from David Coleman – who died aged 87 in 2013 – but she was replaced in July 2021 by Top Gear presenter McGuinness, along with new team captains Sam Quek, 33, and Ugo Monye, 39.

And Purves said today: ‘Often changes made for a reason doesn’t seem to work. You’ve got to look at the lovely Sue Barker, she has been wonderful on the tennis and she apparently has said that she is standing down so we won’t be seeing her there. But it happened when she left Question of Sport – look what happened there.

‘I mean I find the programme unwatchable now, and I think it’s a great shame. People get used to a certain thing and refferal gacor they like the style, and because people get older I don’t think they should just be dropped like that – maybe it should be their own decision.’
